Update

Just sent my first text message, very intimidating. Tried to post a picture is of little electric carts that two of the couples have bought, bt it wouldn't work.  Dad and I are still in negotiations for mode of travel. Of course bikes are his preferred method but from what I have seen I would die for sure. We're off this morning for shopping. One of the other teachers here took us for a walk last night and showed us the market and we figured out our washing machine. Great progress. Yippee. Monday is the fourth of July here so we don't have classes until Wednesday so only one lesson plan to prepare; two of our classes come Wednesday, two Friday then we have them all on Monday unless something changes; we have to still set up an appointment with our department chair. The branch was really nice, good people.


The campus really is beautiful. Our apartment has an open shower like in South Americas so the bathroom gets washed everyday, we need to find a squeegee and a mop in our shopping today, also a dish drainer and lots of other things. I forgot we would have a Sunday and I didn't bring a blow dryer (because even with a converter they tend to blow up), so my hair is O.K. just not my hair.
