Our trip to Dianna and Matt's was great. On the way we stopped in Cody at one of Dad's galleries, then on the way to Sheridan we stopped at Shell Falls. It was beautiful.

At Wind Cave National Park. Livy was the favorite photo topic.
Mount Rushmore was amazing at several levels. The architecture is impressive. The sculptures themselves are fabulous and the making of them is an incredible story. The stories of Washington, Jefferson and Lincoln give you a great sense of pride and gratitude for the country we are blessed to live in. One does wonder why Roosevelt is part of the sculpture, his history is not glowing, but he was best friends with the artist.
The eyes are about six feet across and the faces have such wonderful expressions which of course change with the lighting of the day. Even the tunnels on one of the roads were designed to frame the mountain. 90% of the sculptures were done with dynamite. Perfect weather. Dianna and Matt's home is so great to be in they have a great spiirit there.
On the way home we were able to spend a day with Jessica and Brian helping them with a few jobs that needed to be done with her being a sick pregnant mom and Brian with a broken foot. We loved seeing some of the grandchildren. Michael came up to help Monday morning. It was hard to go home without seeing Frank, Nathan, Clara, Christian and William but we will be back in Utah next month, then down to Arizona for the Chase kids and the McKay clan.

It was hard to know you were only 2 hours away, and not be able to see you.
