The week before we left for Utah we decide to do a small redo in the basement. All the carpets came up and new drywall put up in several places. We had a flood in the basement several years ago and the company hired by the insurance company cut a lot of corners, we have had a mold problem for a long time. We ignored it until now. New wall board etc, seemed to call for replacing the very 1960's fake stone fireplace. Below is the the new stone fireplace; we love it. When we took the insert out we found a perfectly preserved mummified duck behind it. At one point I had some great pictures of what was happening in the basement along with the mummy duck but can't find them anywhere.
After training Nelson was able to go hiking with Joe and Hugo and a llama. The llama did fabulous the first three days of the hike but the last day he sat down about every hundred yards and wouldn't move. Someone would pull from the front and Joe would pull the tail from the back. I thought this picture was a classic.
