Dad and I went hiking yesterday afternoon to a place called Gold HIll. its about eight miles round trip but the views are spectacular and the trail is really nice. Dad can't wait for one or all of his son (that includes in-laws) who are interested to mountain bike it with him. If you are wondering about the photographs, I just finished a basic photography class. Michael has Dad's good camera in Utah so we took our point and shoot to see what we could do with it. The mountains and the lake are too blurred in the background we would have liked a greater depth of field but couldn't figure it it out on the little camera.

Here's one of the views from the top of the mountain. We took crackers and cheese, fresh strawberries and tangerines to snack on. On the top we met a mountain biker. Dad offered her some strawberries. Our conversation led to where she grew up (Salt Lake)and found out she is a less-active member of the church. She committed to coming to church in June when her mother visits. We always say it is a small world in the church.

So much of the time we find places that remind us of the Lord of the Rings. My skill as a photographer will never capture the magic.

Here we are on top of the mountain.

Fairy house.

I can't wait to hear about your class! Beautiful pictures. I love the blossoms on the tree with the background out of focus.
Oh wow! I love the Lord of the Rings! I want a house with a circular motif like at the shire. That pic you took of the "fairy house" is amazing! Looks like a great place to go hiking!
Those are really beautiful pictures Mom.
