We applied for a forest tax exeption on the back part of our property. That means we have seven years to clean up the forest as per a forester's recommendation. Good-bye jack pines. We have to clear out the bad pines to make room for the good ones. Nelson cut down 15 jack pines to expose one white pine that was struugling for light and air. As long as we are out there we have decided to park out the remaining trees and clear the underbrush. It will be fine when we are done and much more inviting.
I have deiced men like saws and anything to do with fire.

Stephen's bird house is really weathering nicely. This year we have tiny little birds checking it out.
A group of young mothers try to go on a weekly hike. They are a great group of woman and are so kind to invite me to participate. I'm not as fast, can't go as far, but sure enjoy the invite. This is baby Porter and his mom Becca, he has been back packing since he was a few weeks old.
