Lack of technical skills

Wish I knew how to post a you tube but I don't. Leroy and Heather (Bouse House)posted a you tube on their blog that I loved. They are on my list of blogs so if you have a minute scroll down and listen to Elder Busch (sp). What a great spirit his words carry.

The first line dried sheets of the season

Tonight I sleep with the smell of sunshine. FABULOUS.

Should Dad go to Spain with David?

Should Dad go to Spain with David? Yes!!!!! Please start putting peer pressure on this man to Carpe Dium. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity. I try to tell him that if he dies I will not miss this money. He keeps referring me to Elder Hale's talk in conference. I say we can't afford not to.

This is a good man.

As all you know dad loves to fish and saves carefully to finance his fishing trips. The winter has been long and I decided that our bedroom needed a face lift. I painted the top half of the room a color called Asian Jute, Ellen Kanada helped me choose the color, and she really does have a good eye.. Dad has gotten use to it. Next came the call for curtains, which dad really doesn't like, but.... Not having a real talent for decorating, this has been a real stretch for me to find something I like, that I think will look good etc. Dad has patiently nodded yes and no to lots of different options. I finally decided what I wanted and figuring out how to pay for it.. So back to the fishing savings account. A few nights ago we were laying in bed and dad got up opened the "secret place" and gave me the money I needed for my curtains and rods, he is amazing!!!! There again if you know your dad as well as I think you do, you understand how much he must really like me. You may not call that romantic but in my book , WOW. He really does just want me to be happy.

Update, Farm 2009

We have sunshine today. Hallelujah!!!! We took a quick tour of the farm to see what the winter has done. There is moose poop in the yard. Zoe is not a good watch dog from Dorothy's living room. There is a geese couple in the dip hopefully since there isn't going to be any major goings on down there this spring they will stay and nest; and a black and white duck on the pond. The dam seems to be holding pretty well, but dad has dreams of bigger and better. The tractor is the new hangout spot for cats and chickens. Everyone love the red tractor.

These carrots were dug this morning, they are wonderfully sweet. Dad filled leaf bags this fall and put them on top of the carrot beds and we have had fresh carrots all winter. They are in beautiful shape. I am amazed. This season I am going to overwinter carrots and try parsnips. It is really nice to dig something fresh when snow is expected tomorrow. The purple carrots have the best flavor and I ordered seed for this variety again, but they look really nasty cooked or bottled, kind of a sick brown, unless you want to peel. One thing I have discovered is the fresh root vegetables have a much softer skin and since that is were a lot of the vitamins hang out I prefer to just give them a good scrub.
