Humph!
Occassionally I will check out what looks to be a promising cookbook from the library. Yesterday was the day to try a couple of recipes that looked good. Last night was a new macaroni and cheese. I ate Trix for supper and dad had a fried egg. This was really nasty macaroni and cheese. Mel's recipe is still our favorite. I also made a cheese bread that looked devine. I liked it fine but dad thought it was too cheesey, so I thought I would try it in french toast this morning. Dad had corn Chex for breakfast. I ate most of mine. As dad said, the food pictures looked great, but this is not a cookbook for us.

Very sad
I want Mel's mac and cheese recipe if you can post it. I have looked long and hard and tried many recipes for homemade mac and cheese with no success!
Baby James' favorite Mac&Cheese is Mel's. He won't even touch the blue box. :)
I really like the "Pioneer Woman Cooks" I have tried a few of the recipes and enjoyed them but I have to admit the best part is just reading the book...she is so funny and spunky and has such a great voice in the book...I warn you though there is nothing "light" or "low-cal" in her book. It is book meant for people who actually work...her husband is a rancher. If you haven't already I highly recommend checking it out. I got it as a gift and didn't put it down till I had read the whole thing.
