Baby is a week old today, and she is beautiful. Matt and Dianna have sweet pictures of her on their blog but I can't find them on Dianna's computer so I'll post pictures when I get home. The older I get the more aware I am of the miracles all around us. Dianna's labor was difficult and they had to break Olivia's arm to get her thru the birth canal. The doctor was visibly shaken and shared with us later that we would have lost her in about another ten seconds. She is healthy and strong and just beautiful. I had worried a little about Dianna being induced but again had they waited until the 5th the extra half pound that the baby would have gained would have made a significant difference in her birth. The orthopedic surgeon is confident that she will heal without any repercussions. He said often children who have this kind of birth experience the arm is shattered and they are in rehab for a number of years.
I think Cheyenne has been given a bad rap. It is a nice place and we have seen the sunshine everyday but one since I have been here. I was impressed with the hospital and the people are very nice here. It is a pleasant city. Dianna, Olivia and are going on a short outing today to see a little more of what there is to see.

I'm so sorry to hear that Diana had such a difficult labor, but so relieved that Olivia is well in spite of the arm. I'm also glad that Cheyenne isn't so bad after all :)
Cheynne was Joseph's second mission area...a very cold winter and wind that always blows was his assesment. But he said, there was a member who did the concessions for the UofWy football games, and would always "hire" the Elders to come and run the booths for him so they could get some service hours and a football game in once in a while. Joseph loved that part!
So, did the doctor ever consider doing a C-section if the baby was in such distress? Was this even given as an option?
Go to the Sierra Trading Post!!!! Every time we were commuting from Kansas City back to UT we would stop and walk around to stretch our legs.
