I finally planted my garlic and put the garden to bed yesterday. I just couldn't bring myself to do it any sooner. Besides the fact that it has been cold and wet, the garden seemed like a lot of work for not a lot of return this year. I figure you start in April and end in October. That's a good deal of time and effort and this years garden just didn't do it for me. Next year I think I will plant half the boxes and and cover the others.
The chickens on the other hand are happy ladies producing lovely eggs. One of the little banties really wants to sit . I cleaned their nests yesterday and she just about went crazy she wasn't about to leave that nest evn tho I had gathered all the eggs. I told dad I will mark two or three eggs today and let her fulfill the measure of her creation. I really don't need any more chickens but we'll see what happens. Monday we went to Bonners and Graif Hubbard let us shovel old wheat to feed the girls. We got about a thousnd pounds.
