Ramblings

Christmas is almost upon us. Michael got here Friday, Matt and Dianna will come Monday, Mel on Tuesday and David, Sherrie and children Wednesday. Jessica and Brian's family will be in California, Stephen and Rosie in Salt Lake and Marian and Ryan's gang in Arizona.

It is warm and wet here at least for Northern Idaho. David is still hopeful for decent snow. No Christmas lights this year except on the tree. Michael wasn't home for Thanksgiving but was playing at Matt and Dianna's wedding. It's O.K. One of dad's friends use to say "a change is better than a rest". The tree is up which is unusual.

I finally bought an artificial tree. I thought I would save ton's of money going on line to buy it and by doing the lights myself. Not so, but oh well. I think it is pretty. I loved being able to string lights at my leisure (it took me three days), and decorating it was a breeze. I have enjoyed it all month. Besides that I don't have to water it.

A friend suggested making Christmas bags to wrap gifts in. Since I have lots of fabric downstairs, it was good idea. It takes about as much time to sew a bag as to wrap a gift traditionally. I like that they can be reused and they are pretty.

Stollen is not a tradition that I am giving up. I will make that on Wednesday. Michael wanted to know why I don't make English toffee anymore. I had to tell him that it is Jessica who makes that tasty treat. Mel is in charge of the peanutbutter balls.

The L of L is coming along. Michael says it is pretty fancy. I will post pictures next week.

Life is GOOD!
