A Surprise for the Bishop

The primary children suprised the Bishop yesterday afternoon. A caravan of cars pulled up to the house and about 45 children piled out of the cars into the studio to suprise the Bishop. They sang him songs, gave him a book of drawings and played a Beat the Bishop game. This is Izzy Davidson she helped the Bishop erase his anwers from the white board.
Here are the kids in the family room watching the game. They crowded closer and closer the longer the game went on. It was a great surprise. We have a great primary, with remarkable leaders.

Chicken Update

Ernie finally had a good talking too, to the chickens and threatened them with a call to Danial Bouse if they didn't start laying. FOUR EGGS today.

David just called and has been offered a school in Orem. Our family is really blessed.

35 years and a birthday

Today would be mom's 85th birthday which means it is Uncle Don's 85th birthday. I can't find a picture of them as twins but this is a great picture of Mom and Dad with Cameron, Joan and me.
It is also Dad and my 35th anniversary. We are older and a little more wrinkled but we sure still like each other. Life has been really good to us. We are grateful.

Home from Georgia

Dad and I just got back from an amazing trip to Cartersville Georgia and the Booth Museum. I wish I had the ability to tell you what we saw and experienced, it was a world class museum,a beautiful facitlity and a staff to knock your socks off. These are some of the nicest people I have ever met. We really felt southern hospitality but beyond that. These people are family to one another and know they are involved in an important work and that their personal contribution is critical right down to the women who work at the entry desk. I felt like I had experienced Zion.
The museum asks each of their visitng artists to draw something or at least sign their names on these big 4x8 canvases in their members lounge. Here is dad hanging up the cnavas he drew his two minute cowboy on. Here's Dad's watercolor class that the museum sponsored. They loved him. It was a seven hour class, these people had tremendous enthusiasm.

This is Liz she was in the class and also is the librarian at the museum. She has a fabulous story but it's too long for me to write.

Natalie and Lisa work with outreach and education for the museum. They spent countless hours preparing for Dad's visit, presentation and a million other things. There is no room for mediocrity with these people.

Field Burning

Dad and I burned part of the dip this afternoon, we also looked at the back forest to see how we will implement our forestry plan. The day was beautiful, it's amazing how warm 42 degrees are when the sun is shining. Ernie did service for some people in the ward most of the day with the help of the red tractor.

Wildlife Photographer I am Not

So this is a picture of the woodpecker who wakes us up every sunny morning. Well he doesn't wake up dad, he is already up but this bird wakes me up. The problem is he is pecking on the metal roof, go figure.

The mural is begun

Dad , Ernie and I mounted the paper on the south side of the Lof L. Dad is sprying it down with the hose instead of the usual paintbrush.
Dad says this is the way to go.

Tacking down the paper.

Heres a random shot while I was waiting for Dad and ernie to need my help.

Meow, meow, meow. We have had four days of sunshine, it has been heaven. I started to clean out the strawberries today and the rhubarb has pushed thru. Spring coming this early makes me nerveous but there isn't a thing I can do about it. The carpet goes in the Loft next Thursday. We are in the home stretch.
